Cherie Lusky

Cherie Lusky, LCPC, ATR, is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Registered Art Therapist.

Growing up as a somewhat quiet and reserved child, Cherie discovered art as a means of self-expression during the many moves her family made around the country. This passion for art led Cherie to complete her undergraduate degree in Fine Art from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her love of working with people led her to earn her Master’s of Science degree in Art Therapy from Mount Mary College in Milwaukee.

Cherie has experience working with many different populations and ages in individual, group and family therapy settings using both art therapy and verbal counseling techniques. She has several years of experience working with children and adolescents with significant emotional and behavioral disorders in therapeutic day school settings. Cherie also has worked extensively with adult survivors of sexual assault and childhood sexual abuse in an outpatient counseling center. There, she helped her clients cope with issues such as trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship problems, depression and other mental disorders. Additionally, Cherie also contracts with the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago's Studio E Art Therapy Program to provide group art therapy services.

Clients working with Cherie can expect to be welcomed into a warm, non-judgmental environment focused on holistic treatment with mindfulness-based approaches. Her style using various therapy techniques is based on what the individual client needs; she believes that there is no one-fits-all solution that works for everyone. She is currently enrolled in a three year long Somatic Experiencing training program to expand upon the mind-body and trauma work that she already does.

Cherie is the co-founder of Create Counseling Center and is an in-network provider with Aetna, BCBS PPO and Blue Choice, Cigna, First Health, Humana, Multiplan PHCS, and several EAP's (employee assistance programs).

Cherie is currently accepting new clients and can be contacted directly at cherie@createcounselingcenter.com or 773-969-6811.
